The Sales Manager role is a part-time (up to 15 hours/week) remote position that is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and engaging potential bookkeeping & accounting clients, using high-integrity marketing & relationship-oriented sales methods.
The Sales Manager must be able to apply critical thinking skills while interacting in a professional manner with potential clients, current clients, team members, and other contacts in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate will be able to perform his/her duties in an independent, thoughtful, and timely manner, including the ability to prioritize work assignments and client opportunities.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Attend internal team meetings
- Attend external networking meetings, either virtually or in candidate’s local area
- Identify potential leads who fit within our niches
- Schedule and facilitate initial consultations with leads
- Evaluate whether the leads have sufficient willingness & ability to engage our services
- Guide leads through our sales pipeline
- Work with the accounting team to support the transition to cleanup and/or maintenance services
- Work with the marketing team to generate content & increase online visibility
Success Measures

- Generate & maintain ten (10) initial consultations per month
- Engage three (3) new cleanup clients per month
- Maintain updated SOPs for sales tasks inside internal software
- Maintain upto-date knowledge of our services offered
- Respond to new inquiries within two business days
- Respond to internal requests within two business days
- Participate in managementlevel discussions as needed
- Participate in team activities as needed
- Overall success looks like:
- Leads leave the initial consultation with a clear understanding of whether they are a good fit for Lakesite
- All leads, even the ones who are not the right fit, leave the initial consultation feeling they have been heard, encouraged, and supported in their decision-making processes
- There is a collaborative and supportive relationship amongst members of the Lakesite team (all working toward shared goals)
Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in bookkeeping or accounting a plus but not required
Skills/Traits
- Reasonable understanding of bookkeeping & accounting principles (including sales, purchasing, inventory, fixed asset, and payroll cycles)
- Basic familiarity with accounting software (Quickbooks Online, Xero, or similar)
- High attention to detail and resultsoriented approach to work
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills related to successful performance of responsibilities
- Effective partnership in working cooperatively with other team members and clients
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, etc.)
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance and ensure timely completion of tasks

- Ability to successfully complete Lakesite Accounting applicable background/drug screening processes
- Environment: office (remote)
- Overtime: not anticipated though may be required during peak demand
- Travel: local travel for networking & sales activities (with mileage reimbursement); annual team retreat
Physical Demands
- Work is predominantly performed in a quiet to moderately loud office environment. Required to remain in stationary position 90% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office. Operate computer and other office productivity machinery such as copier. Position self to maintain files in cabinets, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. Observe details at close range.
